On March 25th, 2026, Forest Lovers participated in the SADC Liberation Day Commemoration at the Museum of the Liberation, hosted by Zimbabwe's Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Trade. Though it was a slight deviation from the actual date (March 23rd), the event still resonated with the SADC region's struggle for independence and freedom.

Ambassadors from across the region planted Mumvee Trees, symbolizing resilience and sustainability. H.E Baltazar Diogo Cristovao (Angola), H.E. Mrs. Sarah Sithabile Molosiwa (Botswana), H.E. Brig. Gen. Wilson C. Tembo (Zambia), H.E. Gen. (Rtd) Peter Andrew Lapken Namathanga (Malawi), H.E Mr. Carvalho Muaria (Mozambique), H.E. Mrs. Suzane Salome Kaganda (Tanzania), H.E Mr. David Asheelo Thomas (Namibia), Mr. Micheal Mwipele (DRC), and Mr. July Gininda (South Africa) joined hands, reaffirming their commitment to the region's liberation and environmental sustainability.

Four-year-old Maitaishe Mawoyo, a young environmental enthusiast, planted trees alongside each ambassador, bringing smiles and symbolizing the region's hopes for a brighter future.

Our Trees Without Borders team curated an impactful experience, fostering unity and cooperation. The event underscored our mission to promote environmental stewardship and regional cooperation across Africa.

The tree planting ceremony symbolized the SADC region's shared values of freedom, unity, and sustainable development. We're proud to have been part of this celebration and look forward to expanding Trees Without Borders across Africa.
